Dog Walker in South Wales
Areas we serve across South East Wales: Cardiff • Newport • Monmouth • Chepstow • Abergavenny • Pontypool • Caerleon (and surrounding areas)
In an ideal world, we know you want to be the one who walks your dog. However, sometimes a busy work schedule, unavoidable plans, mobility issues, and other factors mean having a professional dog walker on hand can be quite a relief.
Poochee Care, founded by Alyson Lane, offers dog walking, pet sitting, and home dog boarding in South Wales.
Which areas do you cover?
We offer dog walks in and around Rogerstone, Bassaleg, Rhiwderin, Alt yr ryn, Highcross, Mon bank Gaer, Ridgeway, Bettws, Newport and the surrounding areas.
Do you walk multiple dogs?
Unless we also walk another dog from your household, we only ever walk one dog at a time.
Will I get updates when my dog has been walked?
We understand you want to know what your dog is up to when you are not around. This is why we send you pictures, videos, and updates when we are safely back from our adventures.
How long are the dog walks?
Poochee Care offers 30-minute dog walks within the local area.
Do you take my dog in a car or van?
We will not put your dog in a crate or a vehicle. At Poochee Care, we believe that this can be stressful for your dog and may even make you feel uncertain or worried. Rest assured, we always walk your dog from your doorstep within the local area and right back again.
From the moment their paws hit the pathway, they can bound safely onto the waiting pavement and be free to sniff and explore the familiar sights and sounds of their local area.
Are you qualified to look after my dog?
We have been looking after other people’s pets as home boarders, pet-sitters and dog walkers since the business started in 2018. We are fully insured, DBS checked, and have a number of qualifications within the industry:
Do you meet my dog before you take them out on a walk?
Yes! We always organise a meet and greet before agreeing to walk your dog for the first time.
Once everyone is happy, we arrange for formal paperwork to be signed, including terms and conditions. During this visit, we also collect the house key.
There have been occasions when dog owners have agreed to us taking their dog on a trial walk. We make this decision based on our years of experience. This will only be necessary if we need to check how your dog settles outside of the home environment.
Alternatively, you can use the contact form to send a message and Alyson will be in touch to discuss how we can help look after your pet.

Reviews
Over time, we have received wonderful reviews from the pet owners whose animals we care for.
We hope you’ll agree that these demonstrate our safe, consistent approach and reflect how we will care for your dog, too.
Reggie is walked everyday by Alyson, and we couldn’t recommend Pooche Care enough. We have been let down by previous dog walkers but with Pooche Care we are never let down and Reggie receives the best care.
Reggie is thriving with his daily walks and his behaviour has improved so much. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Alyson was amazing walking our dogs when we were away. One is a nervous girl and Alyson took it slowly and earned her trust.
She is totally committed to the welfare of the dogs and sent regular picture updates. It was our first time away leaving our dogs and felt they were totally in safe hands.
Alyson is fabulous, we are so lucky to have found such a reliable, lovely lady to help with our dog care. She started out by providing puppy visits which lead into regular weekly walks, really boosting our pups confidence & helping with her development.
Alyson is absolutely wonderful. She has been visiting our puppy since she was 4 months old, taking her for walks, playtime & feeding.
